After spending our second book·cation with most people reading Fourth Wing or ACOTAR, this idea seemed obvious when we learned of the release date. Even though the joy of book·cation is that everyone can read what they want, it was super fun to choose just one book for everyone. The ideas started flowing!
One of the major things we tweaked though was that everyone was going to contribute to the meals. Instead of Dani and I making/serving all the meals, we asked people to pick a meal to make. That way, everyone would have the same amount of time to read. 🙌 This weekend was full of theories, good food, and relaxing! (If you consider speed reading a book you’ve waited a year for as relaxing 😉)
Friday Night

Upon arrival, everyone had to walk the parapet, obviously. 🤸🏼♀️ Then, we did welcome cocktails where we drank Tairn + Andarna themed drinks and went around sharing our theories! {For the drink recipes, click here!} Everyone opened their swag which included a special Onyx Storm BINGO card, too. To kick off our reading time, we lit a candle called ‘Shall I Get The Wingleader?‘ and man would it be wonderful if you could smell through blogs. It was just as delicious as you think it would be! 😏 Some people started reading Friday night and others spent time catching up which is the beauty of book·cation- you’re on your own schedule!
Saturday
I wish I had more fun things to type here, but because we were all reading the same book, Saturday was full of non-stop reading! And also for a little puzzlin’ 😂🧩 Some of us stayed put in the same spot all day while others migrated to different couches and bean bags. Around lunchtime we applied some temporary dragon tattoos, took a group picture in our matching sweatshirts, and tried to do our best to talk about the book while being conscious of what chapter everyone was on.

We had 2 people finish the book Saturday afternoon (#SpeedReaderAlert) and Rachel won BINGO! Her prize was getting to keep the wingleader candle- lucky!
Sunday
By Sunday morning, 5 of us had finished the book and were whispering our theories to each other over breakfast. We had to leave by 10am, but we kept the group chat alive as everyone chimed in once finished. I’d share some of our group’s fav theories, but out of respect for those who might not have finished yet, I’ll keep silent. 🤐
If this kind of weekend sounds fun to you, you’re in good company! I’d love to have you join us at our next book·cation 📚 Check out future dates here and make sure to sign up for my email list so you don’t miss a thing!
